1. Correcting Tooth Shape: Peg Lateralis
This patient presented with small lateral incisors, often referred to as ‘peg laterals.’ This is a classic case where veneers can create a beautifully balanced smile.
2. Achieving Ideal Proportions
The ideal width of a central incisor is typically 75-80% of its length*.
In this instance, the patient’s teeth appeared disproportionately long. By using veneers, patient could have a more harmonious and aesthetically pleasing ratio.
3. Restoring Fractured and Worn Teeth
Many patients experience fractured or worn-down teeth. Veneers offer a fantastic way to rejuvenate these teeth and restore their natural appearance. It’s crucial, however, to emphasize the importance of protection afterward. A night guard is essential to safeguard both the veneers and the underlying teeth, ensuring long-lasting results.
4. Addressing Congenital Teeth Discoloration
This patient had noticeable white spots across their teeth, along with brown spots on the central incisors. While teeth whitening can provide some improvement, it often doesn’t fully address the irregular color variations. In this scenario, six veneers on the upper arch and six on the lower arch made a remarkable difference, creating a uniform and radiant smile.
5. Transforming Tetracycline Discoloration
Tetracycline can cause severe and widespread discoloration of teeth. In this case, veneers on the upper eight teeth dramatically transformed the patient’s smile, offering a significant boost in confidence.
6. Revitalizing Smiles: Addressing Old Fillings and Discoloration
Over time, fillings on front teeth, especially those that have required cavity treatment, can become discolored. This can significantly affect the appearance of a smile. In the case below, the patient presented with noticeable discoloration. By placing four veneers on the upper teeth, we were able to beautifully revitalize their smile, addressing both the color and shape, and restoring a more natural and vibrant appearance.
